College student Cassie Parkhurst took time off from school to spend three months as a volunteer English teacher at the Fanaka Secondary School in Tanzania. When she returned home she dedicated her free time to fund raising. “I didn’t have a lot of resources, so I contacted all local service groups in my community for help,” she says. With assistance from a few passionate community members, she collected a container of books and computers that will benefit three Tanzanian schools.
